I originally wrote another fairytale in this world, and I even shared the first few chapters with my VIP newsletter readers. They were kind and SO encouraging. But after learning more about fairytales, I learned that what I’d written wasn’t going to work.

I started my series with a lesser-known French retelling about a dragon. It had echoes of several fairytales mixed into one, and I loved how it empowered the female protagonist. She wasn’t “the prize” in the story. She was the victor.

I came up with a great relationship between her and her bonded fairy. And in true Kristin-fashion, the multi POVs included them as well as the male love interest. But I realized I was too heavy on the friendship/sisterhood between the protag and her fairy.

Anyway, the whole story needed a revamp. And I was heartbroken because I love the story as it is.

In the meantime, I got a publishing contract with Oliver Heber Books for 4 books in my Alysatraee world. So until those books are finished, I will be away from my Seven Kingdoms realm. But here are the fairytales I tentatively have in mind!
